The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a Central Sector Scheme of Government of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports. Motto of NSS is - "NOT ME BUT YOU". It provides opportunity to the student youth of 11th, 12th, and student youth of Technical Institution, Graduate & Post Graduate at colleges and University level of India to take part in various Government led community service activities & programmes. The primary objective of NSS is developing the personality and character of the student youth through voluntary community service. ‘Education through Service’ is the purpose of the NSS.
The College NSS unit is a vibrant unit with more than 100 NSS volunteers participating in various community service schemes such as Blood Donation, Swachhta Abhiyan, Tree Plantation Drive, Awareness Rallies etc. Volunteers also get the opportunity to take part in Seven Days Special Camp at the adopted village and National Integration Camp, Adventure Camp, Pre-Republic Day Parade and National Youth Parliament at national level. Recently, the work performed by the NSS unit volunteers in the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, a cleanliness campaign of Government of India has been acclaimed by the concerned Ministry.
